Heavy is the Head is the latest emergence coming out of the prolific Richmond, Virginia heavy music scene. Formed in 2021, Heavy is the Head have already put their heavy metallic hardcore stamp on the music scene, amassing over 75+ shows in their short history. Heavy is the Head melds influences from The Hope Conspiracy, Knocked Loose and Harms Way, to yield a brand of heavy metallic hardcore that is melodic yet aggressive, with plenty of complimentary bone-crushing breakdowns.
Despite losing one of their founding members to a battle with cancer, Heavy is the Head have vowed to continue on in his memory, making 2024 a banner year for the band, logging two US tours under their belt with North Carolina’s Chained and South Carolina’s Circle Back.

Heavy is the Head’s discography includes their debut EP, High Pressure (2022), follow up EP, No More Time (2022) and single, Dirty Feet (2023). Heavy is the Head’s newest EP, For Your Loss, contains six new studio tracks with the first single and EP Title Track, For Your Loss, to be released on January 31st in honor of their founding member, Nick Rockefeller. Heavy is the Head’s vocalist and lyricist, Kendal Hall is unabashed to delve into the deepest and emotional personal inner-workings, exorcising perspectives on mental and societal issues. For Your Loss marks Heavy is the Head’s most expansive release to date, demonstrating significant growth both musically and lyrically for the band.
